WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW:

Q: Are you the fastest?
A: We definitely believe so. The ability to custom tune means that we can write any combination of parameters. This means that we have the capability of writing the best file for your car and your particular modifications.

Q: How reliable are you?
A: Very. Every file passes under the watchful eye of our engineer, Myan Moodley, who has been a software engineer for over 15 years. We understand the limitations of each car we work on and never put our clients vehicle at risk.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

CPi Performance Innovation has been in the game for the last 15 years. Our professional software engineer, Myan Moodley, is one of the top tuning specialists in the world. Our expertise spans across all makes and models. Software tuning is a fine art that we have mastered.

The Australasian office was established in 2014 as a hub for research and development as well as a sales and support office. With the support of our dealers we have developed software suited to the Australian climate and our local grades of fuel.

Our speciality is in custom tuning. All our calibration changes are made to the original file that was loaded to the vehicle. This more boutique service means that every pieces of software has been run under Myan Moodley’s eyes before its been uploaded. We have the flexibility to work with all types of modifications and are not locked down into predefined stages.

Our tag line is “Playtime is Over” and we work by this. When we work on a vehicle we know that the final outcome will be unmatched. We challenge our competitors to keep up. When you select CPi to work on the calibrations in your vehicles software then Playtime is, well and truly, Over.  CPi means business.

CPi Tuning Australia has an incredibly flexible portfolio. We are able to use many different tools and tuning processes to ensure that our portfolio is and remains one of the largest out there. If you have a vehicle, its almost guaranteed that we will have a way to tune it.

1. OBDII PORT TUNING

We are able to get past the encryption on most vehicles and change the programming directly in the vehicles memory. Our master engineer has been working with the tuning tool manufacturers for the last 8 years and we are an integral part of the R&D network used to unlock new vehicles. Port Tuning allows us to access the greatest number of programming maps for a vehicle. This can often number between 30-60 maps. Some of the common parameters which can be set are as follows:

Boost Levels: In order to create combustion, a motor will use a mixture of air and fuel. By increasing the compression pressure of the turbocharger we can introduce more oxygen into the motor which will in turn create greater combustion forces. We will typically tune a vehicle so that we can reduce unnecessary boost and utilise it to create smooth power delivery without surging and through smart tuning we can continue to generate power all the way to the rev limiter without feeling as if the vehicle has “run out of puff”.

Air to Fuel Ratio: The ratio of air and fuel effects, fuel economy, efficiency of combustion and the temperature of combustion. There is an optimal Air to Fuel Ratio for every motor. We find this optimal figure and tune the vehicle accordingly.

Timing: During the combustion cycle the pistons move up and down inside the combustion chamber. By igniting the air and fuel mixture early its possible to achieve increased power. Usually when a car is optimised for 98 octane its the timing which has been “advanced” to take advantage of the higher quality fuel. Through port tuning we can optimise cars even further so that they can take advantage of higher octane fuels all the way up to 110 octane.

There are a number of reasons why manufacturers turn these parameters down:
– To meet emissions laws in multiple regions
– To build factors of safety into their motors
– So that certain models in a range do not compete with more expensive models
– So that there is space to make new performance models next year

2. OPEN ECU TUNING

In some situations its not possible to get past the OBDII port of a vehicle. When this happens we have speciality tools designed to program the circuit board directly. Essentially this form of tuning is the same as OBDII Port Tuning with regards to the parameters changed, however, the process is more in depth and will require a skilled technician to perform the work. You can even send your ECU to us and we can perform the work no matter where you are located.

3. PLUG AND PLAY SYSTEMS

CPi utilises a number of Plug and Play Systems in order for us to load our software. A plug and play system allows us to tap into the vehicles sensors and to make changes to parameters without notifying the ECU that changes are being made. This is particularly useful for those who wish to avoid risking their warranties as the traces of Plug and Play Systems are very difficult to find and detect after they have been removed. While the flexibility of the parameters is not as great as OBDII Port Tuning or Open ECU Tuning, its an excellent balance where those options may be too difficult.

4. ADDITIONAL SERVICES

File Updates
CPi offers free file updates for basic changes. These changes include sensor deletes and minor updates & improvements from the R&D team. More comprehensive updates for changes such as turbo swaps, engine conversions and fuel system changes need to be quoted on a job per job basis.

Race Package
CPi software is not just for pump fuel. We are able to optimise files to suit different grades of fuel and develop advanced timing maps to suit. This can be for something as basic as an octane boost product or something more advanced such as BOOSTane race fuel: http://boosted-autosports-pty-ltd.myshopify.com/collections/boostane-octane-booster-race-fuel.
Dyno time is also included when optimising for different fuels. A Race Package is a sure way to ensure that your vehicle is more powerful than the pack.

Dyno Time
We have a number of dyno operators around Sydney who will be able to help you with testing your vehicles new power level as it is recorded at the wheels. This gives you the most accurate picture of the performance upgrade we have performed. We can also use the time to perform diagnostics. For certain, more complicated tunes, it is necessary to spend time on the dyno so that we can extract data which will allow us to modify the file. If your vehicle has significant modifications this may be a necessary part of the tuning process.
